Registered Psychotherapist

Ric Taylor

Ric has been working with men's issues and personal growth since 1999. In the beginning, this was volunteer work at night and on weekends. After receiving his Masters degree in Psychology from Regis University Ric founded Touchbase Counseling in 2012.

"My mission is to help others use life-difficulties as a catalyst for growth and ultimately, more joy. I was expecting to have a more complicated insight into the direction of my career path, but it's simple; I'm gifted at it, I love doing it, and I want to make it a great experience for others. It would be my honor to provide this level of service for you."

Ric is available to work with male adults and adolescents for issues like anxiety, depression, anger, behavioral issues, substance abuse, career issues, relationship and marriage issues.

His style includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with a solutions-based approach. Having worked with men for many years, Ric has developed a style for working with a masculine approach to personal growth. This direct style translates well to adolescent males as well.

What To Expect

When You Call: Usually Ric Taylor will pick up and you'll discuss your situation with him. You can also leave a voicemail and Ric will return your call within 24 hours. He'll work with you to make sure Touchbase Counseling can provide what you need and refer you to a trusted professional if needed.

The First Session: Your therapist will want to know more about your situation, the kinds of changes you would like to see happen and the blocks you've already encountered. There is some administrative tasks to complete so the first session often takes longer than the usual hour.

Session 2 and Beyond: Your therapist will have helped you identify the outcomes you want to experience and a plan. These sessions are the core of your counseling services.

Final Session: Counseling does not continue indefinitely. In the final session you and your therapist will arrange a plan for future sessions. This may mean moving sessions to a monthly schedule, quarterly or annually. These kinds of check-ups are the real payoff to a productive relationship with a therapist. Life happens and having a trusted confidant on your side is extremely valuable.
